When I bought my scooter used, it had the baffles removed. Well it was too loud and the gas mileage sucked bad, "32 mpg" So I had the material, "electrical conduit." and went to making them.
These pics are version one. I've since opened all the holes to 3/8" and added about 10 more holes. Then opened the bypass flute to let about 40% of exhaust straight out.
They have a nice tone, and the mileage went to 43 mpg average.

I made straight through types using perforated metal but none like that. I not a believer in adding back pressure like that.

I once experimented with drag pipe baffles. The old fashioned type with the can opener holes in them which can come in long and short versions. I've, at different times, been happy with ramming a pipe through the baffles until the tabs were almost straight, or bending the tabs back and forth till they break off, installing them backwards , or even fitting them inside the Vance and Hines "quiet baffles." Each is a different sound. And that is the point. Not to find a louder sound, but instead, to find a pleasing sound.

I have some made for my screaming eagle 2 mufflers. Nothing more than a steel washer in the center to create back pressure. They work amazingly well. Didn't take the noise down any bit bike runs better than it did with no baffles at all

I have.

The one I have in my 2-1 right now is just basically a washer welded to a right angle and bolted in.

Started out by modding the stock baffle, then after having it crack and flying out the pipe I settled on this...simple and works well.

I've made or modified the "baffle" in every bike I've ever had. The 07 wide glide I've got now has a set of de-catted 2012 wide glide pipes on it. In the cans I put a set of home made lollipops and cut the stock baffles down to about 8" long, using only the outer perforated pipe. This combo gives me enough back pressure to still get decent mileage and have an acceptable sound level at idle and cruise. When you cracking the throttle it does get very loud but not as raspy as you might think because of the way the air flows between the two "baffles". It attenuates the high frequencies very well, without using glass that will burn out.

Cool, good to hear others have went out on a limb to be creative with air flow. I'm on the 4th generation with these. Every change equates to more air flow.

I have a high flow air filter, fuel injection and a tuner. This combo seems to be the ticket for now.

Have not tried the lolli pop system yet. would that be better than a conventional baffle?

When I hit 55-60 mph now, it quiets right down with power to pass.

No.
Cut 1/2 your scoop out and yours will work and sound better than any lollipop.
