The factory computer will self-adjust enough to put a Stage 1 back within stock specs. No, the engine won't "burn up".
The factory ECM has the ability to re-adjust to + or - 3% and no more. Go right ahead and run your bike on the far side of lean and when it takes a **** come back and complain about it!

I've got another vote for DK. I too had to clean my throttle body cause of the oil. No bueno.
I would throw a reflash on it. If for nothing else just that little boost of power it gives you. Bikes are lean from the factory. I'm not getting into the burn up or not **** ing match...

Wrong. It needs to be able to adjust about 20% just to accommodate air density changes caused by temperature changes. And that doesn't even include altitude changes. For example, air becomes about 15% more dense when moving from a 4000 foot altitude to sea level.

One of my stage one bikes without tuning was checked on a dyno, and it was not running lean. And Iron Horse Magazine has done a number of stage one type installs, checked on a dyno, and concluded that tuning wasn't needed.
