A "Stage 1" AC is just that, an AC. No power advantage to either model by itself. You'll need the exhaust to go along with it, along with a fuel modification of some sort to enrichen the ratio so the bike doesn't lean itself out and burn up.

It's just the looks.
Without adding another several thousand dollars worth of cams, pistons, heads and porting work to change the engines ability to use air, the performance difference is little too none

Check out DK customs intakes. Much more cost effective and MUCH better options for crank case breathers, they get the breathers pumping oil mist out of your intake. with 4k miles on my bike when I put mine on I had to clean the throttle body out from having the factory crank breathers routed into the intake.

The difference between the 2 you referenced is basically looks. Gotta agree with 2500hd, the dk customs cleaners are cheaper, but if you get their external breather option, you'll give your motor clean, cooler air. This will increase engine longevity and give a few more hp as compared to a cleaner that routes crankcase air back into the air cleaner.

Another vote for DK Custom, venting the crankcase gasses to atmosphere is the best option, the EPA mandated method of routing the hot gas back into the throttle body is about making tree huggers happy, not keeping your engine in peak performance. This is the DK Custom 587 with smooth bobber cover using the breather bolts, a simple clean look that works... pretty, too ;D

Can we please stop with garbage like that? Every time someone repeats junk like that they heard on the internet somewhere, someone else repeats it as if it is true, and you get a big-ol' circlejerk!

The factory computer will self-adjust enough to put a Stage 1 back within stock specs. No, the engine won't "burn up".

Both are good choices. The SC heavy breather really acts the same as any other air cleaner. I learned the other day from an well established dyno shop that the forward facing AC doesn't have any ram air effect until you start reaching speeds of 135mph plus. Now how often do you stay cruising at that speed?

They explained an entire ratio of Air Force to actual power being gained. It was eye opening!!!
