hey all,
im looking into a windshield for my 2014 fat bob. seen the Harley quick connect on same year as mine and was wondering if anyone had any input about them. it looked really good and didn't seem to stand out too much which is most important. also it was the lower of the 2 styles. do they obstruct vision, vibrate ? clear vs smoked? deflect air good ?
any thoughts appreciated...thx
I had the fatbob low profile windshield, I'm 5'10 and I never had to look through it, wouldn't want to if I could really. It can slide up and down the trees though for adjustment sake. The hardware holds the shield nice and solid, no shakes or vibration. Didn't steal away from the looks of the bike either. So all in allI would recommend it if you want to spend extra the money. When mine bit the bullet Rather than get a replacement shield I went with smaller aftermarket , not unlike HDpilot's and I was way happy saving the money and getting something that worked almost as well as the HD one.
I have a National Cycle Deflector Screen DX on my Fat Bob. I had to remove the rubber molding on the shield and used my dremel to shape the bottom of the screen to fit around the dual headlights, reinstalled the molding and presto, a good looking screen that isn't too large but yet will keep most of the wind off of your chest. Sorry for the lousy pic.
I have the National Cycle Deflector Screen DX on my '08 Fat Bob. I'm still tweaking the adjustment but I love it. Thought it wasn't going to look good but don't think I'll be taking it off anytime soon.
Had the 15 inch variety. Buffeted on my eyes all day long no matter how I adjusted. Did a good job of keeping wind off my chest but the buffeting on my glasses / visor was so much, I would rather ride without a windshield. Sold it and moving to a FXDXT reproduction fairing.
How well does your windshield work? I was thinking of mounting a Fugoo Tough Bluetooth speaker to that windshield with a custom brace and attaching the blutooth remote to the handlebars to control it
