I helped my buddy pick up his new Low Rider yesterday and after getting it to his house, I noticed what looked like a Battery Tender terminal cable coming from the direction of and hanging below the battery box on the right side of the bike. We haven't had a chance to pop the seato off yet, but the cable has a cap to seal out moisture. Not being familiar with the 07s and even less with the Dynas, does anyone know of a new option added to the 07s like built-in trickle charger/battery tender connections? I'll post a pic if I get a chance to snap one. Thanks.
My 06 also had this. I was told it was a dealer added option. So I bought a tender for off months. I also went to automotive store and got a cigarette lighter (power port)with same plug in so if I am on road trip can plug in 12 volt accessoies like cell phone or air pump....
My brotherbought an '06 Road King from the same dealer - no connection.
2 guys I ride with bought Ultras from another dealer - both had the connections.
Go figure.
That's a strange way to do business. I'm surprised a dealer would add anything without telling you about it at the sale, or at least charging (or trying to) for it. Hmm. Well good for my buddy. Doesn't really save him any $, but may save hime the hassle of pulling the seat and installing the connections. Thanks fellas.
I bought a 05 1200C and a 07 Lowrider from the same dealer,in CT. Both bikes had the connection for thr battery tender, but they never told me they were on the bikes. The Sporty had it behind the battery cover and the Lowriders just hung below the battery box. I guess they put it on during setup,so they can justify charging $500.00 for setup.
It is a pigtail for a battery tender/charger and they don't charge for it. I don't think it's an "option" either. I bought my bike in March with a sticker price of $16120 for a Black Pearl Low Rider. Go check your catalog. Harley list price....$16120.
