Grist of the story is that I sold my '04 FXDL in December - thought we were getting stationed overseas - and then the Army decided to send us to Texas this summer instead. My old man isn't able to ride anymore and is passing his FXDX on to me. Movers get here tomorrow, we land in Texas on 7 August and I want to get everything settled from the move before I get the bike shipped from Michigan to Texas. I know all that sounds shady as heck because I have six posts here and you don't know me from Adam, but that's what it is. I've been around a bit and am not here to scam you. Google my screenname and you'll find me all over other forums (Honda Civic, Nissan Frontier, Dodge Ram, Turbo Volvo, etc..). Just trying to establish some level of comfort and bona fides for what that's worth since we may end up trading.
Here's two of the only pictures I have of the bike. I took these when I went up to see him and we went for a few rides. If it matters to you, the paint is a purple flame flake on black gloss and the gauges and console are Harley wrinkle black. From your profile, looks like your tank is flat black which works for me. If you want to swap for the matching front fender as well, we can work that out. The rear fender is gloss black and from my old '04 FXDL. Needless to say it doesn't fit properly on an '00 bike because the '04 fenders are about 1/8" wider. But it's thin gauge sheet metal so we made it fit. His old one is now powder coated gun metal gray and on my old FXDL which is gone.
