My guess is from not getting hit very well from when I sprayed some of the HD silicon spray that rejuvenates the wrinkle black, I think that was some spots that say the TB concealed somewhat.

One benefit from disassembling stuff like this is you can clean and detail the hard to get places that you never can get to when it's all together.

PR's removed, one top rocker cover off at the moment.

Great thread. Got me pumped to finally tear into mine. Little concerned about that pulley nut though... Not afraid to drill it off, but getting it back on might be a challenge. Looks like I might have to invest in a impact, and an air compressor...

To me it looks like something else is going on. .that's like an ashen gray trailing up to the intake port. Have a look at your front intake seal.

Maybe you're right Matt but all looks in order to me on the seals and the insides of both intake tracts are exactly the same, both matching with a moistness from fuel.
I'll keep looking though and report back if I find anything

Nice progress! Don't lose that pr cover o-ring in the cylinder heads if you plan on reusing.

Nice! You can use your old cylinder base gaskets to keep the pistons from hitting the studs. Take pics of EVERYTHING! Trust me! If your old like me, you will need them on assembly.
