Another question for the masses; are the rocker assemblies front and rear specific?
Not that I know, but I always like putting the parts back from where they were in the factory. If you forgot where they went you might be able to tell better by finding the dirties one, which would be the front covers.....unless you polished'em up when you took them off.

They drew first blood, not me! - YouTube
Unfortunately I had to travel to Las Vegas for a couple of days (I come up every two weeks), so the heads are all done but I still have the cams, PV install and the rest of the re-assembly. Slower going than I had anticipated but mostly because I've only been able to do a couple hours work at a time and the breaking down of the bike frankly took a bit more than I anticipated.

Hope to finish it up this weekend though!

How the heck do you come up with these, do you google first blood or do you have the clips in your warped mind already?!

Lol, I did exactly that for the outer parts knowing which were which, but the rocker assemblies themselves are what in wondering about. They seem exactly the same with no markings for front/rear but want to be sure.

In my 2012 HD Parts Catalog - the rocker supports are the same for front and rear.

Spent a few hours today catching up. Got the breather assemblies replaced, rockers installed and heads buttoned up. Had a little scare when I found out the heads I have were touring models with motor mount holes on the front. No big deal in the end I'll just cover the holes and paint.

No pics taken but nothing out of the ordinary. Only main lesson learned is that when re-installing the rocker assemblies the rear cylinder ones need to have the bolts pre-installed, no room to fit them in with the backbone in the way so had to pull them out, put the bolts in and then install/tighten. Pic attached

Also got the new cams in today. Amazing how much faster that goes the second time around! Although I didn't have the magnets to hold the lifters so I removed the covers and took them out.

All that's left now is to put the throttle body back on, tank, motor mount, exhaust, and AC!

Take your time with those intake fasteners, they can be difficult to get threaded and you sure dont want to mess up the threads in the heads. So just make sure they go in easily and dont force them - I had to just go to bed one night and retry the next day but I also had my heads milled down a bit for compression, not sure if you did that too.

Thanks Alan I will. Frankly, the wife is a little perturbed that ice been working on the bike over the weekends, in the past I would do work while she was at the office. Not an option now that she works from home and I have to travel a bit lol!

I'd really like to finish everything tomorrow so that I can ride to work on Monday. I'm also waiting to hear from the tuner and get that scheduled

Ha! I had to do just that. Did some midnight wrenching and got so frustrated with the throttle install that I had to stop before I did something stupid. Any tips on getting that thing aligned and installed?
