Was debatting with myself about to 107" with ported head (already got a second set that never ran, out of a 0kms 2016 breakout for 250€ !!) but I can't afford it right now, and I prefer to put some more miles on my current engine before rebuild it to bigger bore (make sense?)
Soooo, I finished buying the parts for my 57H build, with Cometic 0.030", Smith Brothers Pushrods and Wood Lifters/ Should be nice until a can get it bigger
Also got a Power Vision, some Tools (incl. bearing puller/installer for Koyo B168) and a bike lift...
I know it's a small build, but should be nice with the little compression bump
Started it a couple of times and took it for a quick ride but nothing over 3000 rpm. Definitely need to find a base tune until the tuner can fit me in!
Sounds very different not sure why. Also listen to this sound bite, the loud knock is new to me, may just be from front cylinder. No leaks though. Think this could be a loose pushrod?
Does sound different up front. If you only started it up a couple time and only rode it a short period at super low rpms - maybe a lifter is not pumped up yet. I would have to go back in the Thread but did you pump up your lifters before install, and S&S lifters? Not that it is necessary to pre fill your lifters but it makes the noise go away faster and S&S lifters are kinda slow to pump up - such tight tolerance specs.
Definitly loose rod or like pilot said about the lifters. When I added the H2LT spacers after my build to the S&S premium lifters they were pretty much empty. Didn't let them soak enough. Went for a ride and it sounded horrendous and scared the **** out of me, but S&S told me it would bleed and quiet down.
As I rode more all of a sudden started to quiet down and went back to normal.
I'd start be re adjusting the front pushrods again. While your there pull the tube down and make sure the pr isn't hitting the tube at the top. It's hard to hear real well from the video but make sure the front head doesn't have an exhaust leak, it sounds like valve train tho
I did not pump up the lifters, just removed them and popped them back in. I'll check the rod though since the front is the one where I mentioned that I accidentally turned it a few times while cinching down the jamnut and then tried to cover myself. I'll bet that's what it is!
