There was an oil pump alignment tool called out for mine but it's an 06 with the newer cam parts. I used tapered head (countersunk) screws and worked like a champ.
Oil pump alignment wasn't something I wanted to screw up, so i bought the alignment screws, ebay, $12 shipped. Didn't think to try countersunk screws.
Started it up today, and took it for about a ten mile ride. All's good! Cams definitely make a difference. And yes robbyville, got the oil pump o-ring, plus the two small ones. Hardest part was getting the nerve to start it up the first time.
Yes sir, good job!
I too did my cams first time this season.
The best part was when I started it up and it actually started and ran great.
Makes it all worth it when you feel the difference.
I kind of went a little overboard and purchased a 1.4 Kw allballs starter and then upgraded to number 4 braided welding cable to feed it.
But bigger is better there.
Congrats and enjoy the fruits of your labor.

I read that tip on another forum, I was a little skeptical but have more than 20k on the cams so it must have worked!
