Default Dynas with ABS -- transmission fluid change?

This is for Dyna owners that also have ABS:

When it's time to change the transmission fluid, can the ABS unit be "un-bolted" from the frame and moved aside, for easier access to the fill plug/dipstick?

Looks like it would be pretty tough to refill or check the fluid level with the ABS module in the way...

You can take the plastic cover off off the ABS module and get to the dipstick. I use a T-handle Allen wrench. 3/8 if I recall.

If you remove the ABS cover just make sure it you get back in place properly, or it might end up in between your frame and exhaust.

I use a socket, and a u-joint to get the plug out after I snap the cover of the ABS module. Go get a cheap transmission funnel from an auto parts store, and that will keep the filling nice and clean. Checking the level does suck, but it's do-able.

HD says their Speed Check dip stick says it will not fit with BAS< but I want to give it a try... There's a little room there.

The ABS unit can be unbolted but it doesn't move far because of the hard lines. I am not sure if it would be far enough to get to the trans fill plug any easier. I had mine unbolted for a different reason.

I just take the plastic cover off and use a ball-end allen to get to the dipstick.
