I use whatever is the OEM one or equivalant sparkplug. I don't like the NGK though....as that is a metric sparkplug. However, the sparkplug does its job though.
Sparkplugs are sparkplugs.....they do only one thing and that is to spark. The main thing to do is to get the right plug for the application. In all my rides, I carry two extra sparkplugs in my tool kits. I have walked once back in the old days.
My Twin Cam has Champion plugs for spares and they are always in the toolkit. My EVO's have motorcraft plugs installed....but I belive ACdeclo are in the toolkit.
The plugs in the EFI model get changed around 10-15,000 miles. The Carbed models get changed around the same interval or sometimes less.....too many varible conditions.
Plugs should last at least 15,000 miles on a tuned and efficient Harley. If not, your riding habit should be changed or the bike itself should be inspected for problems. 10,000 miles is a good time to at least inspect the plugs and replace if needed.
