Anybody have the HD Touring Windshield ? The standard HD windshield buffets the rider around the helmut and I am interested if the touring model has the same issue. Any makes that don't buffet the rider ?
I tried the touring shield for a few weeks and switched back to the compact because there
was no difference between the two as far as buffetting goes, IMO.
Both shields had the same amount of bufetting on my 03 SGlide.
I took the visor off my helmet and it reduced the helmet buffetting a little, but not a whole lot.
Jacks Aerovest did the trick for me and it has a money back guarantee.
Search the HD forum for windshields and you'll see what others have done to help reduce buffetting.
I have the standard height touring windshield on my Super Glide. I get buffeting, but it depends upon wind speed and direction. The buffeting is coming up my legs. I have been trying different foot and leg positions to change or reduce it. I am going to try a fork bag to deflect some of the wind coming under the headlight. Actually, I am getting used to it now and will leave the windshield on until it gets too hot out. Good luck with your search. By the way, I get no buffeting over the top or from the sides.
I have the touring windsheild....you can save your money. It has bad buffeting issues like all the other windsheilds that HD sells. One good thing about it is that it has a few inches of up and down adjustment on the fork tubes.
