Yet, look at the fuel gauge. It's slow and inaccurate. Over all, the amount of information you receive from the dash is minimal and very basic.
At least HD doesn't have a crappy fuel strip that requires regular replacement. Mine has already been replaced on my less than 2 year old Multistrada. I think Ducati is on version 5 of the fuel strip and they are still unreliable. Some guys have had the strip replaced multiple times. BMW offers I think a 12 year warranty on fuel strips b/c they suck so bad. Regarding the dash, this is another item I've seen more than one person have to replace on there 2010-2014 Multistrada and that crap ain't cheap.
What I'd like to see on a Dyna (not that I really have a dog in this fight) is more options for luggage that don't require a relocation of the turns...I think they look way better on the fender than on that little bar at the rear of the fender.

Crap is crap, just because Ducati's fuel system is no good either doesnt make Dyna's any better. They both should look into ways to improve the gauge setup as they are both expensive bikes.
At what point do you go to the gas station and how much do you end up adding?
I seldom go the gas station until the gauge is below 1/4 and I usually add around 4 gallons. I don't really pay much attention to the amount filled. I have a manual reserve valve and do use it from time to time.
The fuel gauge on my '01 Dyna is "dead nuts" accurate.....When it's full it reads full and when the needle touches the "E" you'd better be near a gas pump.
The tank/dash/gauge are off of an '84 FXR and work perfectly.
On my 2010 FXD {SG}, the gauge on the tank reads low but since it is consistent so I have learned how much is really in there. The up graded Speedo is quite accurate utilizing the odometer for miles driven and remaining range.
I get 44-46 solo and 41-44 two up with my 135# bride so with the 4.7 gallon tank don't see mileage as any sort of negative factor. Just replaced the rear wheel bearings yesterday at 39,400 miles but the fronts needed doing at 18,000, go figure.
Better brakes would be nice but even with the single disc up front I don't have a problem. At 39,400 miles the original front pads are fine and I just replaced the rears about 3,000 miles ago more out of prudence than necessity.
Recently flushed the forks and both sets of brakes, had the cam chain tensioners checked and found no problems. A new set of rear shocks is on my short list of improvements upcoming but nothing that needs immediate attention.
All in all I could not be more pleased with my Super Glide, too much fun every time I swing my leg over.
Gas gauge on my wide glide works just fine , the gauge on my Fxr not so good. I have to take the cap off and look in to see if I have fuel, I guess that is because it never had a gauge . It gives me a not so fresh feeing. I can't live like this, I am going to look at the new victories!!!
-Stock suspension was awful. They should be embarrassed.
-Stock seat like concrete after 30 minutes. Mean City Cycles is your friend.
-Stock exhaust sounds like...nothing. Hopefully the 2018 Dynas will sound like the new Road King Special.
