Hi, quick question or opinion? I ordered a D&D Fatcat for my 08 Superglide. Man from D&D told me for more power get perforated baffles-- for more power. Received pipes, mounted and took bike local Harley shop for dyno tune. Mechanic tuned bike-- no cams just box and Screaming Eagle intake. He questioned baffles but said it would be ok--- I asked why and he said baffles are for cams and 103 but D&D should know. I told D&D stock 08 with air and box. I rode it 2 days thought this is obnoxious loud. Called D&D today they said oops wrong baffles you need these??? I said since you recommended these can you take the perforated back and help me on the $130.00(130 for correct baffles)? They said no?? I just spent close to $900 --- bought what they recommended-- they sent wrong baffles and oh well? I'm asking is it me or is this f'd up. Thanks for letting me ramble. Opinions needed

Reason: Spelling
Wow. That’s awful customer service and completely messed up! I’d call again and ask to speak to a manager. If that doesn’t fix the problem, blast them all over the internet. Give terrible reviews on every website that they have that exhaust listed on. That might work

My personal experience with D&D on perforated vs the quiet baffle is similar, they for some reason like to recommend performance for most set-ups even though your tuner and my tuner feel like the quiet baffle is a better choice for a dyna. In the end we can ask advice and decide to take it or not - I have not many times, but this time I did like you did, but it was my choice and they sent me what I ordered and I still love D&D pipes, would buy again.
[QUOTE=HrdNox;15934307]Ok so after seeing a posting about the engine temps going through the roof after being dynoed for 5 minutes (same motor) with a Fatcat and a quiet baffle I knew the BDI pipe with 1 3/4 headers wasn't going to work. So,I tried to buy a Fatcat with the performance baffle but D&D is being bought out and won't have it ready to ship for 4-6 weeks. Not to mention their running about $909 now days. So the Bassani RR B1 it is. Just not supper thrilled with both headers running under the cam chest but with the larger headers it should be about perfect for what I need. Bummer because I was liking that BDI. Oh well.
They’ve changed hands. Don’t know if this has anything to do with it. This post was from Feb of this year btw.
The D&D website note on your exhaust at the bottom of the page:
"Baffles
Louvered baffles are for 80" to Stock 103" motors
Perforated Wrapped baffles are for Stage 4 103" to 113" motors"
If someone working for D&D recommended the perforated baffles then I think it is on them but good luck convincing them that someone told you that. I use the perforated baffle and it is pretty darn loud but I also went out to a 97" with intake, cams, higher compression pistons, and some primary work. If you plan to do a big bore with higher compression and cams you may want the perforated baffle. If you ever enlarge your valves and throttle body with high flow injectors you will definitely want them.
I think I'll post a wanted add for the silencer-- rather than order through them again. Half tempted to buy another brand and sell this?? Wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Thanks for letting me vent!
