I am 5'5" and I have a 29" inseam, and I ride a 2017 FXDB.

It came with mid controls, and I didn't have any issues until I got to about 5K miles.

Then I got an engine guard and highway pegs, and man that made a huge difference on long rides.

A couple weeks ago I got Further Forward kit installed, and the 2.1" forward extension helped more than I had imagined it would:

Today I picked up a Mini Footboard kit, installed it in about 30 minutes, and went for a ride...wow I think I found the perfect combination?

The picture shows them mounted on an engine guard, but I put them on my further forward controls.

I never thought about getting mid floorboards...they really do reduce your lean angle...seem other FXDB riders scraping on turns.

I would love to see Harley Davidson come out with further forward floorboard for 2017 FXDB.

So I have mids on my Roadster and forwards on my Fatbob. I am 6'2" 270 and am well aware that I look like a circus bear riding a bike when I'm on the sporty. I had my step dad in town recently and we went for a decent ride (3+ hrs) and being that he is a big guy will older bones than myself I was happy to let him enjoy comfort of my Fatbob and settle in for the longest ride I've done on my tiny sporty with mids. By the end of the ride I was so stiff from being scrunched up I was jealous of him enjoying on my own bike!
That being said I am seriously considering putting mids on the Fatbob and crash bars that I can use as highway pegs on both. If it wasn't such a pain to pull the whole transfer case and expensive to buy a new one or if I had someone to trade with I would have already done it. I know that it's not a dirt bike and that you really don't actually have much more control but it instills a lot more confidence for sure. I feel more comfortable (especially when I'm doing something stupid) with my feet below me. Also, you can stand up a bit on them which is great when you have no choice but to go over some really rough road.

Ridden both, prefer forwards for what I do with this bike. It's not a race bike and all of the "spirited riding" I do isn't hindered by forward controls. FWIW I'm 6'0" with a 32" inseam.
