Only issue running without one on these high ratio bikes today is a higher risk of scissoring the crank. Comp is a buffer, take that out and something else takes the load. I've trashed big inch shovel flywheels running direct drive with no comps.

I have over 98,000 miles on my 07 Dyna with the original compensator. No problems with it . . . ever. Around 37,000 the stator went out and I replaced it. When I pulled the primary cover off the chain was tight with no play at all. Not good. Buttoned up the repair with a new stator and Hayden adjuster.

When going with a Baker compensator, will it work with stock (06B) rotor and stator? I changed out both recently.
