I did a bunch of research on this issue from everything I read it does do not much good, if it was an item that HD highly recomended it would seem to me that they would be insatlled as OE equipment
I agree its not a drastic drop in temp. Ido however think it did a good job on a 91 f day. Ill take 215 f oil temp all day long.
For an 07 if you could drop to 220 or below Id say its worth it.
Id much rather roll up into traffic starting at 215 f than at 240 f.
What I did notice is the bike no longer runs flat from being so hot.
I'm heading to Gettysburg next weekend and will most likely get stuck in traffic. I can see how the fan option works out. The dude with the 06 deluxe will be there so I will have a bike to compare to.
If it save me 1 time from overheating its worth it.

Believe they are on the SE UCs, and are on the police bikes. why give you something for free when they can get you to buy one? They're in if for the $$. just because they don't install it doesn't mean it isn't a good idea. if not, they wouldn't need to sell SE AC, slip-ons, seats, etc, they'd just install them at the factory.
I have an 06 Street Bob, live here in AZ and ride daily to work and back, last year didn't have cooler on bike and when got stuck in traffic in 100 plus, engine really starting getting hot to point I was going to have to shut off. I had engine guard on, so factory wouldn't fit until they came out with new model the 1st of year to fit with engine guards. Since I put it on, it has helped in traffic and everyday riding here, even with 110 plus temperatures, I am completely sold on it, I also run synthetic oil, if I trade or purchase another, that will be 1st option on list.
