Cubby, solid or poly? I don't know if they make both (haven't looked them up yet) but which are you using?

Alloy art good n tites are the best form of poly bushings IMO. But with apes I run solids, speed merchants

Thanks Braaaap....I guess I should have asked everybody if they have arthritis and if the solids are ok with apes and arthritis. Go it sorta bad in the hands, especially the thumbs from drilling concrete with 2 inch diameter bit and hitting rebar numerous times over the years, that bit stops and twists a big gun out of your hands.

They're poly. I don't think they make solid but I think they might make a heavy duty one. I put them on when I went from stock apes to 13" T bars.

I've never knowingly ridden with solid bushings, but mine are poly. Granted, I don't have high bars, but I can't imagine them being much stiffer. They don't move in the slightest. I was just thinking of "upgrading" to solids since my bars are off right now, but I don't think I would feel a difference. Even grabbing and shaking while stationary, the really don't move. But unlike solid bushings, I doubt all "poly" pieces feel the same. I'm sure some are a firmer compound than others.

I'm going to try the H-D poly bushings mainly because I can ride out and get them today. If it still moves around too much like the original rubbers do now, then I will try the solids. My stock buckhorn bars were perfect with the original bushings but I put on 10" mini apes and the bars move a bout 2 inches front to back! I'm a little worried when I need to maneuver, even more if I have to turn quick.

If you've ridden the "chunnel" what's that like and how much time does it take to cross? Curious if it's just too loud or bad air or any fun at all. Don't know if there's lots of traffic all the time, etc.
You can't ride through the chunnel. You ride onto a train and deafen everyone onboard.
Riding in the UK isn't the same as riding in the USA, it takes ages to get anywhere here. From where i live it's about 250 miles to the Welsh coast, that's a 5-6 hour trip each way depending on route, traffic and time of day. I've done it in 4 hours before, but that's at very illegal speeds late evening when there's little traffic. Roads over here aren't really built for high speed mile munching, too many cameras, cops and road works. Good thing is you never have to go far for some nice twisty roads, it's a canyon carvers paradise.

Mark, sounds great to ride there except for all the surveillance. Maybe one day I'll be able to afford to spend some time there and rent a Harley if they do that there like here. Maybe find some family too seeing as I'm Irish/Welsh/Scottish/English/Swedish/Norwegian. Cheers and keep the rubber down, shiny side up.

I have arthritis in my hands myself (mechanic) so with solids I run 18s. They sometimes go numb if I'm riding forever, but then I just hold with the right, let go with the left and stretch it, then swap. Hope this helps
