Either pull the cover off and fix it with a heli coil or time cert or put some Teflon tape on it and tighten it "just enough" and fix it right when you have time. It does sound like your a little lean too...disclaimer: I'm no expert just made lots of mistakes along the way.
If it's like the drain on my 02 Superglide it's a plug with pipe threads. It is slightly tapered and is supposed to fit with 4.1-4.6 mm extending from the bottom of the case. Some times if the drain is run too far in it may cause hairline cracks in the case and that could cause leaks/seeping of oil. Clean the drain of any oil residue and use some pipe thread sealant 565 on the threads (straight from my owners manual). If it's cracked you my have to have the hole welded/fixed then tap it out and use a straight bolt and "o" ring to seal it.
hello
thank you for the replys I did put Teflon tape on it and snugged it up I didn't think it got tight but I will keep a eye on it. road warrior I am no expert either so if running lean do I need to go next size larger on the jets?
thank you
kevin
Teflon tape on tapered pipe threads in castings is not usually recommended. The Teflon is so slippery that its very easy to over tighten and crack the casting. Tighten carefully if you do.

Plus, when you take the plug out the Teflon turns into little threads that can make their way into places you don't want them. Pipe dope is a much better choice, IMHO.
