Default FXDLS Left Grip Salvage

About to change my bar set up on my Low Rider S. Has anyone had any luck salvaging the left hand grip? I assume it's glued, on previous bikes I would just cut them off because I would change grips. But I want to keep these grips stock. If anyone has any suggestions on removing or has salvages the grip themselves, your input would be awesome.

Also, if it comes to it, I will just buy the left one. If that's the case, would anyone happen to know the part number?

Thanks a bunch.

Try getting some WD40 or Goof Off down between the bar and grip wait a little while and twist back and forth.

On newer models, older ones like mine, you don't even need glue, the grips lock into place inside the switch housing.
But if it is glued on: what Ranger said.

I replaced mine with HD's Get a Grips and the stock ones were glued on, had to scrape off leftover grip material after removal. They're cheap, just buy a brand new set if you want to go back to OE.

Just changed bars on my son's dyna, after you get the controls off just start a long small diameter screwdriver under the grip & work it around to loosen up the glue, worked like a charm.

Let’s see, $17,000.00 motorcycle,
new bars $100-$250 or so...
trying to remove old grip to save $13.49...but scratching up the bar instead...
priceless....

really, buy a new grip, ...$13.49 part #56667-04

The only scratches he'll put on the bars will be under the grips anyway & not on the new bars he's going to put on, you want to waste money go for it.
