I don't particularly like BBC. I don't like their mounts. But he didn't put a TC in an FXR. He put a hand built FXR style rear frame section on a wrecked FXDLS frame. I would imagine it's longer than an FXR. And definitely weighs more, probably more than a Dyna. Thats a dyna engine antrans in there.
And yes I saw someone was building an M8 FXR.
My bad. I didn't look close enough. Thought it was an FXR frame.
I thought I once read somewhere that they'll build it to accept a Twin Cam if requested, but I can't find where/when I saw that, so I may be wrong. That's always sounded appealing to me, but BBC's reputation would probably keep me from any kind of significant purchase.
I really liked the ride of a FXR but I chose when purchasing a new HD in 1984 near the end. I decided on a softail which changed from a Shovel to a Evo. I picked up a Softail Super Custom and only 2 colors were made of that model, red & blue. That was another story. Always liked the ride of the FXR and in 2005 I decided to build one. I started with Chrome Molly tubing and made a frame jig. I picked up a Rev-Tech 100ci and the first of many bikes came out of the same bike. I wanted lighter and I also purchased a new 113ci Total Performance (TP) and slipped in a 6 speed with 8.6 final. In 2005 I went to BST and had several sets of C/F wheels made, this is their first 17" wheels for A HD. A custom built inverted forks w/30mm Ohlins cartridges and my wide glide triple trees went on & this is what I ended up with. It is full of 4.6 gals for fuel & oil. I use this bike for high speed highway use and has heavy (20#) each tires. This is my daily driver (when I actually have the time to ride). Extremely comfortable & solid at all speeds I ever took it to.
I'm still light-weighting my Dyna but it's down to 568 pounds with full fuel and oil. I have plans in place to get another 10-15 pounds out of her *** end.
