A shovel or maybe a 200CI Evo (R&R) or Bob's Ocra 139 in a FXR frame built for that motor. Why screw around with these others so called professionals when Bob's, R&R, Cycle-Rama, and a few others when in the end they will cost about the same without any of the drama. Hillside has been around long enough also.

I'd love nothing more then shoehorning a TC in a FXR frame, put some 49mm (Or inverted forks) on it and some great paint. But I only have a 15-16k budget.
Also I want ABS, and it's non-negotiable. Can't get that with earlier then a TC.
The call of the Dyna is strong! Although a bit different situation for me (Bagger back to Dyna), I can totally see your logic. I have ridden an M8 only once, during a demo at Laconia a few years back so I don't have the best opinion but from all of my friends that have them and from what I can remember its a totally different feel than any TC or for sure an EVO. Nobody doubts the power of the new mill its just something about what you've been accustomed to I guess?? I personally like your plan with a Bob or other Dyna and do it up you're own way.....15-16K I feel is a pretty decent budget to put together something really nice. You also mention an FXR (also very near and dear to my heart) with a TC. As i'm sure you know there are some manufacturers making frames that fit a TC into their FXR frames, and if you're willing to mod a HD FXR frame there are ways of getting the TC to fit, but you're talking $$ at that point, but as you said if ABS is a dealbreaker for you IDK....whatever you decide I hope you keep the new LRS that thing is pretty rad the way you have it set up. Good luck and happy hunting!!
I’m on the opposite end of the spectrum. The more I do to my Road King Special, the less I miss my LRS. The King just hits all the marks and does what I need it to to.
Just get another Dyna man...As much as I ragged on the LRS (and you know I did) it's still got more soul than the new stuff out there.👍 Not to mention you had that thing dialed in before you got rid of it. So what's one more go round? Right? 🥃🥃
That’s a nice find. There’s one in Maryland for about 500 more, but about 1400 miles closer. I’m keeping my eyes open for a low rider. Rather have the alloys and dual discs. Though that can be added to the SB as well. Thanks
Going to go look at a '17 LRS today at my dealer. They have it priced insanely @18500, and after speaking to the sales manager (who I know) he said he would do 17.2 for me. I think I could negotiate him down a bit more. It does have tall bars, which I'm not a huge fan of, but that means the clutch and brake lines are also extended so I may be able to fit my 12" WCT's on it - which is a big plus as the entire brake line has to be changed if not long enough. The 2018 softails spoiled me with their separate upper lines, making extending them 1/10 the effort otherwise.
It also has a TBR 2:1 which is also nice to see. Has a shitty seat, but I got that covered with the dead bear Tallboy I still have. Interesting. I also have a set of 13.5" Ohlins HD 762 shocks laying around, as well as am in the process of upgrading the NIX22 fork carts in my Road King to the 30mm Road and Track versions, so those NIX22's will fit nicely in the forks. All that will be left is cams and maybe the 117 kit. Though I can't fine ANY feedback on the long term reliability if that kit. Even though 4 years would be the max I guess.
Fuelmoto has a 113 bolt on which suggests about 130/130, which would be nice. S&S also has a 117 kit with jugs and pistons. I'd need to look at cams.
Other option is a 2017 Street Bob with about 3k miles, ABS and in like new condition for asking 12.5, which can probably be negotiated also. The 103 will limit the "bolt in" upgrades to 110 I believe, and I'm not a fan of spokes, so wheels would need to be looked into. That right there may be the reason to pass, but that can also be done over time. And 12 grand is a bit easier to swallow then 18.
