The LRS has a lot going for it, and were I planning to get rid of my Softail LRS that would be the way to go for sure. However that's not my plan, and the SB may be the better blank canvas to play with.
Fwiw, Don't think those fork tubes are same lengths ... so just the putting the NIX22 from the RK ("as is") into the Dyna won't work out so good. Although they will probably physically fit and you might not notice the other differences
It's the same reason why FXDWG vs. the other Dynas use different versions

Crap, you're right. I used Rushmore NIX22 which are 29" and dyna ones are 32". I'll call Ohlins and see if there is a mod that can be done to them. Thanks for bringing that up!
I spoke to Ohlins. They said that apart from the length, the valving between the dyna and bagger versions are totally different and there would be too many parts to change to make it worth doing. So on the classifieds it'll go...
All is needed is to measure the length of the rod on the bottom and make/machine it fit to the right measurement to work. Machine a new damper rod that is longer. Re-valve the fork to work as I re-Valve everyone myself so they work. I did the "English" Gent bike when these cartridges just came out and he had already purchased the top 41mm triple tree from Due Engineering. With the parts & forks here, it is much easier. Kiddy Garden stuff.

Mr. Howards cartridge rework service coupled with his ability to provide custom trees for a better handling build may be an avenue to explore especially if youre considering using a blank canvas.
Sorry, I looked it up beforehand on Google than copied & pasted it. I am sorry but I only know how to do the job and have done it before. Yos, I do still have a length of damper rod stock left over which I will use if this member wishes me to help him.
