Talking Fat Cat vs LSR

Come spring time, I think I'm going to start changing out components on the bike. Right now, I'm running factory headpipes, with a gutted and rewelded converter, and Cycle Shack slip-ons on the back. It looks decent, and sounds good, but obviously, there's still power to be had. I've tried researching RB Racing on here, but I haven't came up with much. I'm liking the LSR with the 45 degree turnout on it. But, I also know the Fat Cat is a phenomenal pipe. I'm going to be changing out the tuner probably as well, since the SCT I have, apparently doesn't have many files for a Fat Bob, whatever that matters between the other 103's for 2013, so, I'm thinking maybe the PC with PV, or a TTS. Pros? Cons? Definitely going chrome with the exhaust! And I'm debating cams as well while I'm at it. I've been reading, and a LOT of people really like the Woods cams, and even D&D talks about them with their exhausts and which baffle, so, the only question is which grind really. I've watched LOTS of videos on Youtube showcasing both pipes, and there's definitely more D&D videos, but what I've seen of the RB pipe, I like it too. Just can't decide which one I like the look of better. So, I came here hoping for opinions. Definitely going 2-1, obviously. NO Thunderheader remarks. Please. Haha. Thanks in advance!

I had a LRS for my Sportster for 7800 miles it split completely around at the collector and had a crack radiating from the O2 sensor bung. All I got was a smart a$$ remark. Stay away.

I've got an RB Racing LSR 2-1 exhaust on my bike, been on there for 6 years and 40,000kms. Recently had it ceramic coated also. Love the look, sound & performance. Highly recommend.

I have both and it's really hard to determine which one will out perform the other... They both sound awesome and quality is excellent as well... Keep in mind they are very loud and I know the guys I ride with don't like my Fat Cat... They all cry about it but I love it.. Keep in mind that these exhausts are for high performance motors.. So if you don't do the rest of the motor what's the sense of a pipe.. Don't know much about tuners cuz I'm a carb guy, but I do hear the PCV is a really good tuner.. So if you're going to go with tuners pipes and a cam, Don't forget about heads and a better air intake and possible pistons to drive up the compression to make the cam work.. That's a high performance motor..

Well hell. That sucks!! Did you wind up fixing it at all or just pick up a new exhaust altogether? If new, what did you wind up going with?

That does look good. How do you like the sound? Is it ever TOO MUCH?

I've heard comments before about Fat Cats being that loud, but every video I've watched, I love the boom-y-ness of it. The deep tone to it. I think the D&D kinda states about a certain one for certain engine mods and up to a Stage 3, then another one for Stage 4+. I'm still undecided if I want to do a Stage 4 or just stick with a Stage 3 103ci and up the compression and put better heads on it. I want to see if I can hit 110-115whp with a 103ci. I've seen it done before. I think it'd be FUN. Haha. I already have the intake. The ONLY choke point then, would be the factory heads, but I've been looking at FM head upgrades as well. I've looked at all of it already. So many decisions. Maybe talk to Woods, figure out a cam grind, and get THEIR opinions on exhausts and heads. I'm sure they know a thing or two about what good combos work together and what don't. Thanks for info!!

I think that a great pipe is not overkill even if just doing a stage 1 upgrade and the D&D gets my vote!

I have the Bobcat and it's quality is first rate, I doubt you would regret or second guess yourself with D&D!

I wholeheartedly believe all of that! I think I'm gonna wind up the D&D honestly. I've hardly ever read anything BAD about their pipes. And if it was, D&D tried to correct the problem. Customer service being good is always a plus as well! Plus, the angle cut of their pipe kind of matches up with what's currently on mine, and I like the look of it.

Yeah they can be brutal, within 3 months of my LSR it had this funny pigmentation going on the pipe and I really had to fight them tooth fang and claw to get them to redo the ceramic coating.. They weren't happy but neither was I, not at a thousand f****** dollars....
