Merry Christmas all. This one sucks... My girls father is laying in a bed at his home dying of stage 4 cancer. Hospice isn’t doing much for his agony. She has been staying there the last three nights and will likely continue to until we can arrange for home aids next week. So Christmas isn’t a happy day around here this year.
Since I’m sitting around doing absolutely nothing, Trying to get my mind off her misery, I started to think about bikes. When I realized it’s now 5 weeks since I ordered this exhaust, and every week since ordered it was expected by FuelMoto “the next week”.
I really don’t want to patronize a company (Red Thunder) who does business like this. I am really hoping this is them telling FuelMoto “the check is in the mail” with these weekly delays and not FuelMoto shining me on.
Anyway, once they’re open next week I’m changing my order to a Fat Cat unless I can find a vendor who has a ThunderHeader in stock. Don’t want to wait another two months for one of those either.
Merry Christmas bud. Hang in there, things will get better. Get on one of your bikes, fuel up and just go, don’t matter where but just go and find your peace for a while.
Sorry to hear about your girls father. All the best wishes.
About the exhaust.
I asked my indy , if Red Thunder didn’t have a reputation for slow delivery!
He didn’t understand that, because they answered his mail after 10 min and delivered the exhaust quickly.
So I don’t know what happened in your case?

Maybe EU delivery vs US? I don’t know. All I do know is I can get stuff from the EU in a few days. Not months...
Honestly I think you'll be better off with a thunder header over that European import and I only say that because look at the collector, extremely similar to the super trap and that's where you get the most efficiency at the collector pipes or pipes no matter how you look at it collector design will determine a lot about how a pipe flows... And I don't think anybody makes a better flowing pipe than the Supertrapp or the Thunderheader because of that...

The Thunderheaders performance is clearly proven all know know. I was hopeful for this pipe due to the stainless construction. However if I do end up with a TH I’m going to have it sent directly to a shop for bead blasting and high (+1500 deg) Cerakoting. I did this on another pipe and while it’s only been about a year it still looks brand new.
The alternative is the Fat Cat. I had one and really, really liked it. I wanted to try and keep the sale with FuelMoto, since I paid them already, but they don’t sell Thunderheaders, only D&D, Bassani and Rinehart, as well as so,e other brands I wouldn’t consider.
Are you expecting a power increase over the eseries?
If any, it would probably be minor. The E-Series is a great pipe, but I’m really looking for better sound. Even with the fiberglass matting removed it’s very quiet. I want more/better sound, but without losing performance. So I can’t just throw some loud, crappy pipe on there. I want something good.
I'm happy with the eseries. Got a great deal on a used one in new condition. $100.
It didn't even have carbon on it. I guess they didn't like the sound. It's on the WideGlide.
My FXDF has a Propipe on it and I also have a Supermeg.
I checked and they match up. I'm thinking I'll end up with a ProTrapp on that one..
