I’m insane. Just ordered another Red Thunder...
If any, it would probably be minor. The E-Series is a great pipe, but I’m really looking for better sound. Even with the fiberglass matting removed it’s very quiet. I want more/better sound, but without losing performance. So I can’t just throw some loud, crappy pipe on there. I want something good.

Just FYI, FuelMoto now has one extra Red Thunder in stock, so while I think most of what he’s getting have been sold, mine is up for grabs!
Definitely looking forward to that. I didn't purchase the one that was on my bike when I bought it so It could have been 10 years old for all I know. Hopefully it works out for you. As you already know you won't find a better sounding pipe.

You guys don’t know how lucky you are, we can’t get anything without paying 19-25 % in tax ! !
So I got thinking and figured if I don’t try the Red Thunder, I’ll regret it. So what the hell. I had Jamie send me one. Got here today at around 3. Once I saw it “out for delivery” this morning, I pulled the existing pipe off and neatly laid it out on a towel. I’ll wrap it up and stash it in the attic, since they are no longer available. While taking it apart I was truly amazed at how well the high-temp Cerakote held up. Still looks brand new. Amazing stuff. Anyway.
Install was stupid easy. Each cylinder has its own pipe, which slip into the collector which is part of the muffler/collector unit. They are held in with really tight springs - that was the only pain in the entire job. Once together and tightened up, I wiped it down and started it up. Two mistakes. I forgot how much the initial heat of cerakote C series stinks. And I forgot to take out the EU DB killer. Wow, it stunk up my house. I quickly rolled it out and aired out the house. With my luck it’s probably seriously carcinogenic. Once done I started it up (outside) and let it idle until it stopped stinking, then went for a ride. Ran like ****. Way too rich. Bogging etc. Clearly that DB reducer really restricts flow. Would need an entirely new tune, or at least a half dozen auto tunes. Out with it!
Pulled in, let it cool down and promptly pulled the insert. Then started it for only a couple seconds in the garage as dinner was soon to be ready. Now it sounded good. Didn’t ride it so I have no idea how the tune is, but that will be tomorrow. All the natives are out hooting and hollering and firing off backyard fireworks, so I’m in for the night. We’ll see tomorrow.
Really quality workmanship, but not a single piece of paper in the box. Not that you really need it, but some instructions would have been nice. I found an install video on their site and a PDF of dramatically bad translation instructions.
Heat shields will be in the next order Jamie gets - I joked with him: “probably in 2022”
Ride report tomorrow. And another discussion on what to do with the gen-U-wine ThunderHeader on the way from DK...
Happy New Year all.
