Have the cables been lubricated?

You need to back off the adjustment on your return cable until the stiffness goes away. Always adjust pull cable first and return cable last.

Personally, I don't use return cables as the carb spring is pretty strong and the return cable can be difficult to adjust.

No. They said in the store they don't need to be lubricated. They are super smooth when there is No tension pn the cables

i have tried everything including your advice. The "ssshhh / scraping sound" comes from the 90 degree metal area where the wire sticks out. I also pulled it out with my hand when the bottom end of the cable is connected to the carb. It seems the wire / cable struggle and gets more stuck with the tension from the carb spring.

Are the cables shitty ? I am getting frustrated here and summer is half gone.

The problem began when you (DIY) changed cables from 40 inch to 42.
There is a complaint summer is half gone.

Our co-member replies above offer guidance, including the throttle friction 1/2 moon and tension/ fit of the grip to the bar end.

If you are positive your install work and cable adjustment are correct....
You could certainly have "shitty" cables.
So, buy new (correct 40-inch length) HD cables and have them shipped overnight.
That's my two-cent comment.

Good luck.

And lube those new cables when you install them.

Some cables are Teflon lined or some sort of plastic liner. From what I understand, these should not be lubed.

Just take the dodgy pull cable off and ride with one cable and enjoy your summer. You don't need it.

I have now 100 % found out what the problem was:
The cables are indeed just crap. Avoid Barnett at all costs!
There was a friend of a friend of mine who are waayy better with bikes than me,
and his friend had bought the same cables as mine and after they installed it on his FXR: same thing!
Super hard to twist the throttle due to the 90 degree metal tube that goes into the steer-house causes major friction
once the cables gets pressure. Gets the same "swish sound" too.

Don't know if this was mentioned, despite you thinking you found the issue, are you sure you are adjusted correctly? I have found that too much tension on one or the other or both cables, even the slightest, can cause a grinding feel and equate to an unsmooth action.
