Electrical problems after reverse polarity
how do I post pictures on this site?
Do an Advance search. I put two below. Damage can be done even jumping with the maintenance charger wire since it's easy to get what's positive on it.
There is a note on that in as best I can tell at least by 2004, Harley protected electronics from that. However older bikes don’t seem to have that.
There has been a few on here that it took out a bunch of controls.
You say it won't start. Does it crank over? What does work?

Basically a Dyna model.
You made an error and installed the battery cables incorrectly.
You reversed the polarity.
Positive cable was connected to negative battery post and negative cable connected to positive battery post.
Why were battery cables re-connected?
Why did you buy battery?
Reason: Was this bike operational prior to this problem?
You report that bike would not start after the incident.
What does that statement mean to you? Does it mean no cranking? Does it mean it will crank but not run?
Does the bike have any lights operating at this time?
From the limited information available it reads like either a fuse or circuit breaker is compromised at minimum.
Circuit breakers are inside the access panel and should only be removed with battery cables disconnected.

Guessing and replacing parts is not the way to solve an electrical problem.
If you want to guess and replace parts you don`t need us to help.
If you want to troubleshoot, get out your voltmeter.
Take some voltage readings:
What is voltage at main breaker copper stud?
What is voltage at main breaker silver stud?
