Mine lit with nary a tick, I was really surprised. My other two had a 10 second tick but the twin cam was silent on the initial light.
It was my first HD build with new lifters, previously I reused the stockers. Maybe I was a bit more into the lifter priming, that and I used some info from a post by Max, if memory serves. Bought a little oil can and primed the lifters with straight 30w.
I did run the starter a bit with no fuel pump connections to prime. The injectors were new too, no residual fuel.
100% complete. I went out to do my heat cycles on Saturday. Pulled the ignition connector and the fuel pump connector, plugs were already out. Hit the starter for 7 seconds, gave it a minute and did it 2 more times. On the 3rd try got pressure on the gauge and the light went out. Then I gave myself a little scare. Put everything back together, hit the go button and she fired and ran for a second and died. Tried again and got the same so I stopped to think it through for a second and remembered that I had swapped the BCM at Christmas. My wife got me the fob security system and the instructions said I could swap the BCM and take the bike to a dealer to be flashed. The behavior I was getting was like it was getting no/running out of gas, so I thought swapping my BCM was a safe place to start. Reinstalled my original and the bike fired right up. Valve train is quiet, not a leak to be found. Cycled to 165 degrees 3 times cooling completely between each. Shes off the lift and ready for WI!
Odd, I think the bike should not have started without a programmed fob. You say it started, ran and died?
Yup. The fobs don't even have batteries in them and aren't programmed to the bike. The BCM was installed along with the antenna and that was it. I figure I'll install the BCM in the parking lot at the dealer and push the bike in when it's time to do the programming.

Interested 100% in your experience. I was planning to add the Security BCM to my bike soon as well. There's a dealer near me with the BCM in stock, I was planning to just drive there, parking lot swap and roll it into the service bay as well for programming.

It probably won't get done until the middle of April at this point, but I'll post about it. I am pretty excited to have this since at some point years ago I just stopped carrying my key or locking my bike at all.
I went back and re-read the instructions, and it does say I should just be able to pop the BCM in. That being said, it wouldn't be the first time their information was bad.
