Default FXDX cable length

Hello, the other week I tried to fit a pair of Fatboy bars to my FXDX and althought the throttle and clutch cables were fine, the electrical cables seemed to be very tight and too short to do the job. The bars are not vastly different to the stock black bars and I had them on my 1200S and they were a comfortable ride. Im not really into extending the cables for cost and other reasons, e.g. as an electrician I suck! Does anyone have any idea how much slack wire H.D. build into the bikes? Mines a 2000 bike if it makes any difference.

Slack?
You can run your cables pretty tight, no slack needed, up to the point of them being stretched.
If you put too much pressure on them, i.e. turning the bars the forks pushing, they will separate.
btw, I ride a 2000 FXDX.

Yes, I need more slack wire in order to get the fatboy bars on, the wires are too tight to get the switches ect fitted back on, do you see what I mean? I thought maybe there was some slack that can be got from under the tank or somewhere. Are you running the stock handlebars?
