you'd be very surprised at how comfortable those bare bones are. I had one on my Sporty - that bike was lowered to the point the fender was almost on the wheel (virtually no travel) and I rode that bike everywhere no problems. Even did a couple of long trips (Vancouver to Calgary, Alberta and back) without any real discomfort.
