I was thumbing through the HD book today looking for a new seat. I am prepping the bike for it's voyage from AZ to WI for the 105th.
I saw the Sundowner seat that a lot of riders /passengersseems to like and noticed a seat that has a built in backrest for the rider. Does anyone have any experience with this seat? I am interested in it because it's about 1/2 the price of a Corbin or a Mustang and am wondering if it's any good. Please share your opinions freely
I forgot to tell ya it's going to go onto a 2005 Dyna Wide Glide.
I am prepping it forthe 1800 mile ride home to WI for the 105th with a friend of mine.
Sad to say, he will be riding a Triumph though
Has anyone recieved their tickets yet for the festivities in Milwaukee?
Only thing I added besides the Sundowner seat, was a Lazy Rider luggage/backrest. Unless you're riding two up, this allows you to stretch out and ride pretty comfortably.
I got the HD tour seat, about $225 at the dealer, for my 05 WG and I use a Biker's Friend for a back rest. It works great for me, 700-800 mile day is nothing. Can't wait to go for a 1000 miler this year.
I don't know about the seat with built in backrest, but I do like my Sundowner -- mostly because it keeps my wife's mouth shut!
I was honestly completely happy with the stock seat. Here are a few photos of how it'll look on your ride (even though yours has a better rear fender than mine!):

Cool, but what is a "Lazy Rider luggage backrest"? I'm new to the HD stuff.
I think I am going to go with the Sundowner and a Saddlemen TS3200DE tail bag http://www.denniskirk.com/jsp/produc...tId=&mmyId= www.denniskrk.com has them for $113 with free shipping.
Saddlemen also offers a "softer" bag that is similar to this model but it's a little smaller (2") and a little cheaper ($90) but noone has them in stock that I wads able to find anyways.
I do not need a bag for a long trip often, I mostly go for day trips with my son or go to work so in most instances my little tail bag holds my lunch / rain suit pretty well. Maybe this bag will fit on my bobtail rack if I need it to when I go 2up ?
