Don't know the answer, mine only died like that once, but that was a few milliseconds after I got T-boned at about 35 mph................. guess that don't count

i had a problem like that. it was intermittent dying like that. listen for your fuel pump to come on when you turn the run switch to run with the ign on. if it makes the sound its always made, try jiggling your fuel pump relay then try again. my problem was a terminal going into the relay panel wasnt seated and it was causing the fuel pump to lose power. take a look at the terminals and if one is further back in the panel than the others, thats a problem. may not be the one, but sounds like the exact same thing i had to fix. and it was a Btch gettin that terminal seated.

exact same symptoms i had. check the fuel pump relay terminals. that was killing by bike the exact same way
