After doing some searching and comparing the LePera Barebones with the Corbin Hollywood Solo, I've decided to to with the LePera. The cost between the two is night and day...about $150+ for the Barebones and $360+ for the Corbin.
I saw positive feedback on here about Rob's Cycle Supply on Ebay so I ordered one. According to the tracking info I recieved, they've already shipped the seat and should be at my house on the 2nd of June. I can't wait to get home to throw it on my bike!
I currently use my HD Brawler for solo rides, but it sits too high and pushes me too far forward, forcing me to sit on the lip of the back of the seat.
the barebones on you bike is going to look ace just remember it may feel hard at first but they work amazingly well, i do a lot of miles on mine and would never think of swapping it out for another,, post pix...
Yeah, I'm expecting the firm ride. I had a Corbin on one of my other bikes and even though the seat appeared hard as a rock, it was actually pretty comfortable.
Jake your gonna love it, did 900 miles on mine last weekend: Tombstone, Silver City, Gila National Forest, El Paso
On day three I could feel it a bit but I think any seat would be like that too. It might take a bit to break in but its actually pretty comfortable considering how thin it is.
Safe trip home Jake ... you must be so excited about getting on your bike and heading out ! Dunno about the seat ... mine is a work in progress using the original pan ...
I'll be home for 28 days, which amounts to 26 because of travel days. My first weekend home the wife and I are riding to Laconia with some friends and we'll be heading up the following weekend as well. I'm looking forward to it. After that I'll have one more vacation on October or so and i'll be out of here in Jan 09....I hope...
Best of luck with the barebones, Mine is great around town, but brutal on trips of 150 miles or more. I came home from a trip last week and had what felt like a brused tail bone. I just ordered a better paded Danny Gray for the trips
I like my LePera. So far I have only ridden about 150 miles in a day. I felt comfortable the whole time. I'll share a secret if you promise not to call me gay. Those tight shorts that bicycle riders wear they have a nice pad sewd into them. It is placed in just the right spot. I put a pair of those on under my blue jeans and I can ride all day. Without the bike shorts I get the seams from my jeans digging into my backside.
Jake have a nice vacation and thaks for what you do for this country.
PS I have bike shorts because I ride bicycles not because I like wearing wierd tight shorts.
