I know issues like these are tough to diagnose without seeing, and have been beaten to death, but I wasn't able to find this exact problem on the forums.
I just purchased my first Harley, and I'm getting a pretty nasty vibration at idle upto about 2100 RPM. The whole bike shakes and I notice the engine moving around quite a bit. The vibration (and movement) stops at 2100 doesn't occur above that rpm. I have read that engine mounts have been a problem, but wouldn't that cause vibration at higher RPMs as well?
I have ridden my friends 07 night train with the 1584cc, and it is super smooth at all rpm....... I know, I shoulda got a softail!
Although mine shifts smoother, and doesn't have that starter "clank"
Everythings a trade off I guess
some vibrations normal.. if it seems extreme you may want to have it checked out... the nitetrains have balanced motors usually, so they dont vibrate at all..
Sounds perfectly normal to me. The engine is rubber mounted so you will see the engine moving at idle and there will be vibration in the handlebars. Things smooth out as you roll off idle and get moving, as you seem to be saying. Ride and enjoy!
Sounds pretty normal. mine does pretty much the same thing. Unless like what was said up above, if it's extreme, have it checked out. I would go check out some other dynas and compare what they look like at idle etc... The dyna motors aren't balanced like the softails.
Thats how mine does too. I took it in to the dealer and they said it's normal. You will get use to it pretty fast. They say that why the ladies like dynas.
