Thinking about buying these, and lowering the rear another another inch, so the front and rear will be dropped a total of 2 inches. Watcha guys think of this kit? How do they run? I have to change out the fork oil anyway, so I might as well do that while I have everything apart.
I've never lowered my front but I do have the Progressive Standard front springs with the rear lowered with Progressive 11" shocks. I like the front springs much better than the HD's.
Adrian, I have the progressive lowing kit for the front, 1 or 2 inch kit. Still in box never installed. Don't think I'm going to use. If you want it for $80.00 shipped let me know. Part # 10-1566. G
I wouldn't want to go through that much work just to loose suspension travel. Why not try lowering the front end a bit by sliding up the tubes in the triples? I have their standard length kit with the tubes slid up about 1/2 ", seems to work well for me.I also have their 11" HD rear shocks and my bike rides fine without having to drop the front 2".So.. unless you are really in love with the "as low as you can go" look or you're a midget I wouldn't mess with dropping the front much more than an inch which you can easily do without a kit.
Now you've altrerd your geometry................trail.
only increased a small amount...Just will be more stable at higher speeds and a little less responsive around a parking lot.
Adrian I bought the progressive kit from eastern. For 41mm forks though. The entire lower needs to be removed to install(I had the stealer do it along with put on chrome lowers). Front feels real good compared to the old 39mm stock front I had originally.
I run this kit, and set it up to be lowered 1 1/4, rides real nice, performace is great, and looks better than havin your tubes stickin out of the tree by an inch. I wanted to powder coat my front parts so I figured I would lower it also. If you decide to lower to 2 inches it'll bottom here and there, mine doesn't bottom set at 1 1/4.
Hello Adrian:
I put progressive 440's, 11 inch on the back of my super glide and like the ride so much I installed the progressive front springs and lowered the front one inch. Not only is there an incredible improvement in the ride and handling but the lowered look likes great. And, while I was doing the front I installed the 2" tank lift which I think pulls it all together.
