Well I started my winter projects and all was going well, I was putting my exhaust back on till I get the torque cones in,and that is when i droped one of the exhaust bolts I heard it hit the motor and now I can`t find it. . I moved the bike foward and back but it didn`t drop out. question is,is their any way it could of gottin in to the primary case,if so I guess that will cause a lot of damage

No way for it to fall inside the motor. If you were working on the back cylinder it is probably hiding behind one of the fins on the tranny. If it was the front cylinder just take off the voltage regulator and it will probably fall out.

Good luck!

The primary is basically an enclosed chain case, the only things coming out of the inner case is the shaft from tranny to clutch basket and the shift shaft linkage. I've seen stuff bounce on the swingarm right behind the tranny, under the starter or even land on a inner primary casting web. Good luck.

Well I just had a mysterious torx screw appear under my bike and can't figure out where it came from. If it was off my old timer cover it has been riding in my engine/frame for 2 years.

I dropped a bolt into a place where I couldn't see it, but ran a telescoping magnetic stick in all those places, and picked it up from in between the primary & tranny I think .

$5.00 at Sears or any parts store.

Same thing happened to me... I Dropped the nut and it just vanished! So I started the bike and drove it to the end of the driveway. Stopped the bike and presto ! The nut was sitting on the edge of the street.

What pissed me off is I never would have been working with the nut if the stealer had bolted my exaust back on after doing my winter mods. That right, I picked up the bike with pipes attached at the rear, but O2 sensor and manifold bolts not even connected. I discovered this after I rode the bike for about 10 miles this spring. First when the engine light came on I realized the O2 sensor was not connected so I connected and thought problem solved. 10 miles later I realized the pipe was not even connected to the manifold, and nuts were still sitting on the engine block ! Next time I'll do my own mods and put the bike back together myself.

Lucky I didn't burn a piston.

I dropped a nut once and nine months later a son appeared. Just kidding but I did drop one of the ferrels that are one the cables while changing my hand grips in the grass. Took and my son about an hour to find it.

Always keep a couple of extras for when this happens. Rarely do I find it...
