Cool Security

I have an 06 S/B and I have the fob system. I use it everytime I am away from the bike for a period of time. I have had no problems. Only changed the fob battery about 2 weeks ago. I always lock the forks. Been to a lot of rallys and no problems. The way I look at it is that is what Insurance is for. If stolen they buy it and I get a new bike. Remember to park the bike where it can be seen by you if you are out somewhere. I think that most bike riders will not mess with another persons bike, but ther are a few. I live in a area where there are a lot of biker bars and have not had any problems. The alarm system is just an uneeded expense to me. Like the other say use the extra cash for mods. If someone wants it they are going to get it regardless of what we do. They know how to defeat the alarm system.

I think it takes a professional bike thief all of a couple of minutes to pick the ignition and fork lock, bypass the security and ride off on your bike. During that time he would not attract a bit of attention from people passing by. The security system is as useful as the ignition and fork locks. It will keep some dip from riding off on it while you're in a gas station if you're lazy to lock the ignition and forks.
