Went to local dealer intending to consign my tube frame Buell. Have been wanting a boat. Saw the FBob sitting there and had to have it. Now I am broke, wife says I have no self-control or concept of money. Couldn't be happier. The real plus ? Wife hates riding.
I was looking for a bike for a friend. I found this '02 fxd for $5k. My friend only wanted to spend like $3,500 and thought he wanted a sporty. I wasn't even in the market at the time but couldn't pass up the deal. Sold my Honda cruiser for $3k and got the rest from a perfectly timed tax credit. Funny thing is my friend ended up buying the same model including year for $6k a few months later (it only had 12k miles on it though as opposed to mine which had 25k)
Bought my 99 last year from a young fellow off of Kijiji who inherited it from a late uncle back in 2003. This kid didn’t have his bike license and had no interest in getting it. I picked it up for 6k CND, with only 1500km on it.. the only thing It needed was get a new battery and clean the carburetor. I’m sure I could have gotten it cheaper, but there was a couple guys look’n at it and I didn’t what to take the chance of losing it.. Bike runs like a dream!! The only thing I’ve done with it is add 12” t-bars, ź faring, updated the turn signals lights, badlander seat, heat demon grips and willie g skull accessories.. I love my Dyna!!
Wife got hooked on Son's of Anarchy....... then told me I had to buy a bike. Not just any bike had to be a Harley "Like the ones they ride". Well didn't take much arm twisting, LOL
I needed a daily rider. Sold a pretty bitchin sporty that was just too high strung for daily use and a piece of crap truck and was on the hunt. Took about 3 mos to find exactly what I wanted...an unmolested fxdx. And I found one locally that a old man no longer rode complete with bags, windshield, cushy seat, kuryakn everything and thankfully a 95in motor and a SERT. It's taken me about a year to get it how I wanted but I'm stoked on it and it'll never stop evolving and getting upgraded.
Harley forcing dealerships to close in the Chicago area. I made them an offer that they couldn't refuse. It was nice to have the upper hand at a stealership finally. It's amazing how low they can go on the sticker price. It was only a few years ago they were getting 1 to 2 grand over sticker and had wouldnt even order you a bike for anything less. The times are a changing.

I found mine on cycletrader. I had to wait a couple of weeks to go see it. When he pulled the cover off I knew that I had to have it! I paid 7,000 and the bike had 9,000 miles on it. That was several years ago.
