In Jan 06 my doctor told me I only had 10-12 month's to live, lung cancer spread to my liver. Went to the Mayo Clinic for a second opinion, told me 2-3 month's so go out and do whatever you've always wanted to do while you can. I've ridden bikes since college and always wanted a Wide Glide so I took a check already made out for what I wanted to spend and the third dealer I went to took it. Well after 2 years of chemo I'm still here and still riding my paid for WG.

Default 62 and never rode a bike in my life.

3 years ago I took the safety course to see if riding was something I wanted to do.
The course took the total mystery and scaryness out of motorcycle riding.

Bought a used Honda Shadow and rode it for 3 years. Last November at 65 I moved up to my 05 wide glide that had only 1500 miles on it. I find it more satisfying than the 55 chevy convertible I gave up and owned for 20 years.

Well 7 years ago I almost financed a Sporster. I had been wanting a bike for awhile and had the wifes Okay and everything. She asked if it was what I wanted, and I said no, I want a Fat Boy. So she said save for it...
Fastforward 7 years and she she said it was time to go get one. We walked intot he dealership and the sales guy showed me the Fat bob and I was instantly sold!

Did a week or two of research on it, walked in and paid cash! Dont regret it for a single moment!

My local HD dealer moved to a new location and I went to check things out and maybe buy a new T shirt.

Didn't get the T shirt but came home with a new 06 Street Bob... Total impulse buy.

A life changing decision I have not regreted even for a minute.

Default 2nd Dyna

Back in 1995 stopped by a local biker shop and kick started a 70's harley, tried to buy it but came up $900 short. In 2003 bought my 99 Superglide cause I had the cash. Then sold it to buy a house, but told my self next is a Nighttrain. Then 2009 found my current 2006 Streetbob at a great price and loving it.

I traded a 69 VW bug for my 97 Wide Glide...Hated to see that car leave me, but happier to see the bike come to me.

I'll add to this one too, I guess.

March 28, 2010... a year ago today, awesome. Anyway, this is the day that I got back from Afghanistan. When I got home, I had new neighbors, who fortunately I liked (unusual for me). I did notice one thing about ALL of them, they all had bike and I didn't. I hadn't ridden since I was about 17 and here I am 31 years old now and my last experience was on an old mid 70's Honda Nighthawk and some kind of Kawasaki dirt thrower and pile that on all of 17 year old mind set. One thing I did know, is that I was looking for a Heritage Deluxe, a Fat Boy or anything in the Dyna family. So I jumped on the computer and the very first one that popped up (not the only one I looked at) was a 1996 Wide Glide. Went to the mans house 3 days later to look at it and fell in love. It had been sitting in his garage for 3+ years and wanted to get rid of it. He started it everyday and rode it to the end of his street and had it on a charger in the winter and still changed out the fluids every spring. Everything on it was factory original (tire, brake pads, plugs... everything) and to top it off, it had less than 1,800 miles on it. Thought that it was too good to be true. So I took the VIN and ran the numbers at work (had access to the police system) to check for any accidents or to see if it was stolen, it was clear. Called him back and asked why he was selling and he told me that he was scared of the bike (insurance adjuster, had seen one too many accidents) told him to knock 700 off the price and it would be sold. Picked it up 2 days later and have put about 3500 miles on it since.

My 19 year old son wanted to buy a sporty, and asked me to go to the Harley dealer with him ( he needed me cosign for him ) to look. Well at the dealer he said why dont you buy one and we can ride together. That all I needed to hear, seen a new 2007 Street Bob and went home with it. He got the sporty.

After leaving rockets, i'd been chuggin around on a 78 goldwing for a few years. was ready for my first harley. Found an 83 FXR an hour away for $6500 but bank said it had to be transferred with lien before they would write the check & the guy would not do it.

Told a regular at one of the bars i work at about it. he said "83 superglide for 6500? how about a 2008 superglide for 1500 more?"

The rest as they say is history.
