How did you get your Dyna

Was at the dealer and he offered me what I paid for my 2010 Iron plus he took 1500 off of MSRP. When it was all said and done I rode out with a new 2011 Street Bob for around 11.8 out the door. Best move that I made this year. This bike is miles above the Iron in every way.

I'd been out of riding for 23 years and bought an 05 Kawasaki Nomad. Traded that for an 06 Yamaha FJR. My kids all grew up around m/c memoribila and my youngest boy always said he was gonna buy me a Harley some day. Always made me proud as hell that he felt that way. Never expected him to do it. Just the thought was really enough. On Nov. 11, 2009 we were chatting on line when I sent him links for an 05 Super Glide Custom, modded just the way I would do, with a buy it now price of 8500.00. 3200 miles and less than a mile from my house. Told him if I could sell the FJR in the next hour, I'd buy it. Next thing I know, it's sold! Hehe, I told him it was a good buy, someone just bought it. He laughed and said "Who bought it"? He did and as they say, the rest is history. I picked it up the next day and have been lovin it ever since. Musta done something right with that young man. Sorry for the long post.... but you asked. Found my used 09 FXDB on a dealer's website...called 1 minute later, put a depo down, and then signed the papers 6 days later. The three other Street Bobs that came in the same day were sold two days later. I got lucky.

I owned a 1992 Heritage, well the motor went on it so i traded it in at the dealer for 2009 Nightster, although that bike was a blast it was not comfy not matter what i did, so i put it up for sale, i get a call asking whether i would consider a Dyna on trade.2 months prior he had put 4900.00 into it like chrome and tensioners and a bunch of other stuff. We ended up trading bikes even trade no cash exchanged, Now love my FXD

My story is boring. After taking the safety class I purchased a used Sporty. I drove it for a while and realized I looked like a bear riding a bicycle. I drove 2 hours to a dealership that actually talked to me like a human being. I bought it and treated it like gold. Of course I treated her like gold until one day I was riding in the rain and hit an oil slick. We went down. I took the brunt of it. Still have some work to do. I love my '09 FXD.

Rode two different sportys over the course of 6 years. Saw a lot of different bikes in that time. In 2008 one of my co-workers and good friends bought a brand new Fat Bob in Denim Black. It was love at first sight. There isn't a single part of the Fat Bob I do not love. I saved for a few years. Sold my 1200 Sporty on Craigslist for way over what it was worth and bought a brand new 2011 Fat Bob in Denim Black. I have not even ridden it yet. Sigh. I should be able to in a week or so though.

'09 Super Glide Custom
After deciding to get another bike, I went to my own bank to see how much I could get financed. Figured I wanted to ride while I still can. They would finance for me a car, truck, boat, plane, motorhome...but NOT a motorcycle! WTF? So I asked if there was any reason why I couldn't use my $8,000-limit credit card (w/ that same bank). They loaned me $8,000 @ 2.9% (using one of those promotions you frequently get in the mail) for 12 months, depositing directly to my checking account.
Then w/ cash in hand, I diligently and exhaustively shopped online/craigslist for several weeks, looking for a near-stock bike. My local dealer had a 1999 FXD listed for $9,000, would have taken $8,000. But I just knew I could get a later bike for that much money. Really wanted the bigger motor & 6-speed. That evening, a craigslist ad turned up my '09 FXDC w/ 6600 miles, about 20 miles away, original owner asking $9500; I was the 1st to inquire, and arranged to see it the following day. So next day I brought along a friend (to drive my Tundra back), looked at the bike, went to the local bank branch w/ the seller (2 miles away), and got it for $9,000, including: security system, SE tuner, sissy-bar, Kury grips, owners manual, both keys and both fobs. Rode it home.
That was a year ago.

Found my DYNA FXDL
I found mine at the local HD Shop. it was an 02 bought in 05 with only 2100 miles on it for only 6600 have put in lots of chrome since and it is still under 8000 in it. Love it. When the last to kids are out of college I am getting and Ultra Glide...
