My wife and I each had sportys, she an 883 and I had a 1200c,in the fall of 2010 our dealer had demo rides,I could'nt get away from work that day so she drove down herself and tried out as many bikes as she could, but I asked her if possible to test ride the Superglide and let me know what she thought about it,we were already thinking of trading up the following year 2011.Long story short she fell in love with the dyna and could'nt stop talking about it,saying how much better it was than our sportys and if we could do it,trade up in the spring, mind you her bike was a 2009 and I had just bought my bike in January 2010,it was a 2007 and I already was ready to make the move to the Big Twin.So we ended up in March 2011 buying her a brand new 2011 Streetbob and I bought a new 2011 Superglide Custom, without ever test riding, only sat on one once at the dealer,I just took my wifes word and that's how I got my dyna, buying 2 new bikes was a big decision(money wise)I was content riding my sporty another year but she convinced me that I would not be disappointed, and that's where we are today.Theres more than one forum member here with a perma grin, lol.
I was looking for an old one then stumble on my 2010 fxdwg thought it was a catch since it was in 2010 and was about 3k less than the dealer without talking about the taxes .. It had 1400km on it so I jump on it and dont regret a penny so far. I only regret that here anything older than 25 cost 100 $ to register. All the rest is 634 for cruiser 1400 for racers
Went to the stealership to look at a couple of used Dynas and didn't like the used ones and saw my beauty sitting on the showroom floor with a reduced price. Bought it and went home and called the wife and told her to come to the house and pick me up so that I could go and get the truck. That didn't go over very well but she knew I was going to look and would probably buy.
Found mine on Craigslist. I'm the second owner. First owner did all the mods, he said he gave almost $16k for the bike and added another $4 or so in mods. He was expecting an ugly divorce and was unloading all his toys, he sold me the bike for what I consider a very good price.
Made a deal with the wife to wait till after my deployment to get a new Harley... Then the AAFES dealer in Mosul, Iraq had a list of 2010 bikes that had the Military discount added into the year end close-out. Saved roughly $3K on the bike. My wife was a little pissed until after I told her the savings... Always wanted a Harley, and finally pulled the trigger.
quit smoking. wife told me if I quit she'd buy me what I want. got exactly what I wanted. an empty slate. 2008 superglide 2100 miles. 2 seats. factory forward controls. $10,000. had it almost 2 years. love it. my mistress. my wife approves.
Picked up my '06 Super Glide with only 7K miles from a guy at work for a great price, but had to trade my '08 Bullitt Mustang for an F-150 to get the wife on board. Best decision I've made on a vehicle in a long time. Love my Dyna!
Lost my mom after an extended illness. After taking care of all the dirty work (funeral, will, etc.), I decided to look at bikes. Had not owned one in 20 years. In a moment of weakness, my wife told me I should look seriously and I took her to heart. Checked out the Harley dealership and just couldn't find the perfect fit. A friend told me about an '06 Superglide (35th Anniversary) at Eddie Hill's, a Yamaha/Honda/Kawasaki dealership. Fell in love, bought and renamed her Ethel in honor of my mom.
Looked at a sporty on craigslist but the deal did not go through. Decided to look at Dynas on craigslist but the prices were more that i wanted to spend. Then i found this FXDF on ebay and i did a "buy it now" and got it (i did not want to try my luck with bidding). It was in New York so got it shipped to my door. It was completely stock bike except for a Born to Ride medilion on the gas cap. Did some modification and i love it. Glad i got a Dyna.
