6 months before my 30th birthday I said to my wife. "I am buying myself a bike for my birthday." I looked around at all different makes and models and I fell in love with the 2010 Dyna Wide Glide as soon as I sat on it. It just felt like it fit me. After haggling over price and interest rates for about 30 min. I left on my new wide glide on my 30th birthday. The feeling of freedom on a bike is irreplaceable. The best money I ever spent!!!
I found mine at a consignment shop with 841 miles on it. I offered $5,500 for it thinking that there was no way the owner would sell it for that and I would have an excuse not to buy another bike. The owner called me within the hour and said he would accept my offer. Once I rode it the decision was made to sell my '00 Fat Boy and keep the Dyna.
I bought my first Harley a couple of years ago, a Sportster Iron, spent a bag load of cash on pipes,AC,Tuner etc but after a couple of months i really did,nt like it at all so i sold it and bought a KTM 950smr which was great, but i kept going into my local HD Dealership because they are friendly guys with great Coffee and Doughnuts, and after a couple of months one of the salesman commented that i always sat on the Fat Bob in the showroom while we talked, so he told me to take it for a test ride. Well a couple of weeks later the KTM was sold and last November i got my Denim Black FB, and this feels like the bike im gonna own for many years....
Wife bought me mine for Valentines day last year. Had it delivered and in the garage when I got home from work. First time I have ever been surprised by a gift. I was floored !

I seen a blacked out Street Bob at a dealership, looked fantastic - they hadn't left anything out but the price was high ($23k CAD). Went to another dealership to talk to them about building me one just the same and it came out to be about $20k... That summer the tranny blew on my truck and cost me $5k to repair, i was pretty bummed as there was no way I could afford the (overpriced) bike. Anyhoo, I still visited the dealers regular and was considering a Sporty until I found a stock looking 2007 Street Bob on Craigslist that I promptly bought... she cost me $9500 and came with Stage1, SEII mufflers, q-detach luggage rack, q-detach windshield, highway pegs and passenger pegs and pillion. Spend most of the winter and a couple grand modding it til it looks how it does. Stoked!!!
Rode dirt bikes up until college. Over the past few years met some new friends who all rode Harleys. This past year I decided it was time to get my first street bike and decided on a Harley.
I basically made the mistake of walking into my local harley shop 4 times in one month. Each time I saw that frontend on the fatbob staring back at me
and finally I found myself sitting at the table signing papers.
Best money I've ever spent!
I was at the stealership, just kicking tires. I saw a blue '08 FXD sitting on the showroom floor with a $13,000 price tag. I talked to a salesman, who told me that he could get me out the door with the bike for $16,000. A bit out of my price range, and I wasn't even looking to buy quite yet, he directed me to a slightly used '05 FXD with 604 miles on it.
He told me that a gentleman who worked for the CIA bought it overseas for his wife, and they moved back to the states (shipping the bike) after he retired. She stopped riding after 604 miles, so he traded it and his other bike in for a bigger bike, I assume a bagger.
The bike had a Mustang seat, detachable windshield, and security system, and had a $9,995 price tag on it. I called the wife on the way home, discussed it briefly, and went back to get it the following weekend.
Well i had to share my story, 8 months ago I walked into our local Harley Dealer just to look around, was in there about a half hr or so and kept coming back to this 08 FXDC. The salesman ask me if I wanted to test ride, at first i declined then he talked me into it, and before that i had demoed several bikes and so I knew kind of what I might want. So I rode it and wanted it, They were asking 10,500 for it, and had the stage 1 already done to it. They would not budge on the price but gave 4500 on trade for my old bike, which was a kawasaki mean streak 02 model. walked out owing 6000 plus tax and license. All I can say is I'm 48, first harley, and just love to ride this Bike.
my brother called me out of the blue one morning and asked if i wanted to buy a harley. i didnt know crap about harleys at the time. he wasn't sure what it was so he got a hold of the guy and got the serial number. I finally found a website that would translate it and tell me what it was. 09 fxdl lowrider with screaming eagle a/c. the bike actually belonged to the guys wife, who had bought it to make her ex husband jealous. she was scared of it and wouldnt ride it without her new husband on the back.. lol she was only bout 95 lbs. anyway, she had let a family member take up payments on it and he had missed the last couple payments so they went and got it. they just wanted 10,500 for it and owed 10,800. He sent me a pic of it and I got the fever. i'm a sucker for a deal on just about anything!!!! it has 3,860 miles on it when i went to look at it. I was sold when I rode it!!!!!! he told me to go ahead and ride it home as it would be 2 days before his wife could get away and go to the bank with me and sign some papers. well i rode it home the next day. then we met at the bank the following day and done the paperwork. The next day I called harley to see if It had any warranty left and found out the bike was a leftover and was bought in april of 10 so i've got warranty till this april 12. I was also shocked to find out that it has the 103 stroker kit and stage 2 instead of 96 ci. I got a pretty good deal. didn't have a single scratch on it either.
