Christmas eve 07. Got off work and made it to my parents house to salvage my holidays (UPS driver) and found my whole family and my inlaws there enjoing themselves. Thought nothing of it. Some point in the night someone says they want to go out to the garage and see my old nova from highschool. Ok ok I say everyone is out there before me and when I walk through the door......I promised my self I woudlnt cry....ha ha there is my 08 street bob. My wife had it ordered in denim black cause the dealer didint have one and she had them deliver it too. Man I love that woman. Big bow on it and everything.
Yep, she's a keeper! (both of them)
Coolest story so far.
well about 5 weeks ago i went to a used harley/metric dealer near me. Truthfully went in just to sell my '06 Honda 600rr. But there in the midde of the floor was an '07 vivid black street bob, with some custom powder coating, thunder header, and forward controls. While one guy is crunching numbers for my bike, the other guy and i are BSing. hes like, go ahead and take a seat, pointing at the SB. 5 min later he starts it up. abotu 2 min after that i ask about a trade in. Long story short, they offer me a fantastic deal on a trade in. I signed the papers and the bike was mine. I had to wait 2 weeks to pick up, but during those two weeks, they did a full service on the bike, which included replacing the rear tire, none of it at an additional cost to me.
I have some buddies who ride together on the weekend. I hadn't ridden a bike since my first kid was born and had waited for them to get out of school. 5 kids and 25 years later I took the plunge. One buddy rode a wideglide, one a lowrider, the other a duece. I talked to them for hours, read every article I could find and finally decided to "build" my own. I bought an '06 FXD for $11,500 out the door and immediately began the transformation. Three years and God only knows how much money on stage one, stage two, head porting, and chrome out the *** I'm about there. I bought and sold a RKC and am now the owner of a SERG.
One of my friends was in my shop the other day looking at the SERG and made the comment that with what he feels is the perfect Harley I should sell my dyna - my answer to that was I'll sell the SERG before I sell my Dyna. It's the perfect bike for me, other than road trips (with all the changes I've made its more or less a ride around town bike) its quick, responsive, sounds great and looks fantastic.
In July of 07', I was laying around in my bed one day with the girl over (she was my girlfriend at the time..) and I said "Hey, wanna go to the Kawasaki dealer? Its right down the road.. I just wanna look!" So we end up going over there. Low and behold, I end up financing a 2007 Kawasaki vulcan 900 custom. Awesome ride!! I put about 5,000 miles on it in 2 months. My buddy bought a 2001 screaming eagle wide glide (AKA the switch blade). He let me ride it, and I instantly fell in love. Amazing bike. But I always told myself I'd never buy a Harley... I always thought they were just over priced, and I can get the same satisfaction out of my vulcan 900. So my buddy and I were riding, and we decided to stop by the used harley dealer where he had gotten his bike from. I instantly fell in love with 2 bikes. It was the 06 street bob, or a 2007 softail deluxe. Both were basically brand new. I put in my finance papers, and a few days later, get a call saying I got approved for the Street Bob!! I went nuts......... I wasn't sure if I wanted to do it or not. I told the girl, and she said she would help me pay for it. That was a done, sealed deal. I went and picked it up that same night. Had them stay open for an extra hour so that I was able to pick it up. I've yet to look back. The vulcan was a cool ride, but it does't even compare to my Dyna.
I bought 10 raffle tickets from a motorcycle club last july an won a 2007 xl1200r. Cool bike but just too small for me. I tried to sell or trade but the economy sucks and the dealer would only give me $5000.00 trade. Then in February I saw the full MSRP sportster trade in deal Harley had going on I got 9600.00 for my sporty plus the stage I around 8000.00 out the door.

Wife wanted a third Great Dane... I said if you get a third dog, I'm getting a bike. She got the dog, I bought my 07 FXDL after a 2 year search. She still wasn't happy that I brought it home. :-)
