Default Which gear?

One thing I have noticed on my bike is that at low highway speeds I am not sure what gear the bike likes to be in. When going over 70...it likes 6 no doubt.
When going 50 or so... it likes 5th.

But it is that in between that I am not sure...5th seems to have high rpms...6 seems to be too low and a bit sluggish.

Course the grade of the road or wind have great effects....so the speeds differ.

So I am curious...at what speed do you usually put it in 6th?

Same here. I have an Andrews 30 tooth pulley ordered right now. UPS tracking says I'll have it next Tuesday... Have you swapped your 32 out for the 30 yet? If so, any pictures of the procedure? I haven't even opened my primary yet so I don't really know exactly what I'm getting into...

I like 6th at just over 60, but I'm ready to down-shift if I need to accelerate quickly when under 70. A slow climb from 60 to 70 doesn't seem to lug the engine. Of course that's all on an even grade.

I ride 60 and above in 6th. I have a 64 mile round trip and it's up and down rolling hills and is 65 most of the way, but when I get in the 60 zone for about 5 miles it's in 6th most of the time. One hill I drop it to 5th and then back up to 6th once I'm at the top. That's just with slip ons too. I don't have an a/c or tuner and it pulls just fine with no bogging unless you go wide open throttle, but hopefully most know to down shift if you're in that kind of hurry.
