For **** Sake...get over yourselves....Does a '09 corvette look anything like a '58??..Is it any less a corvette?? Compare Malibu, Seabring, GTO, Triumph, Sportster, Honda Shadow, F100,,,,,,, and I could go on and on as I am sure you can too. It's evolution,,,It's marketing,,,call it what you want,,if the dealer says it is a Wide Glide, then that is what it is. I like it.
It is “marketing” not “evolution” that is driving the change in the Dyna Glide series of Harley Davidson’s. If you cheapen up the product, you can sell a few more. What you lose is the heart of the product; you lose that elusive component that has built its self into an established mark. You cannot cheapen the product and retain the same level of class. As an aside, what would you do If HD came out with an announcement that said, “We will no longer manufacture the blacked out bikes.” Who would whine then? It is easy to admonish others when it is not your ox that is being gored.
Some pics I lifted from the Motorcycle.com website.
Personally, I think the new Wide Glide is sweet. Havn't seen one in person yet, though. BTW, for those that didn't read the article, the WG in the riding pics is a European model, that's why it has the Street Bob tail light. Using the turn sigs. for tail lights isn't legal over there apparently.

Reason: typo
Uh, some of those things would be considered epic failures and a disingenuous use of the name of a formerly great machine. Malibu? Really now. GTO? Please. And don't even get me started on the Hinkley Triumphs. I think one of the worst, was that abortion from Korea that they called a LeMans.
It still remains to be seen if this new version of the Wide Glide will be an epic failure or a success...but you still ain't gettin' the old Wide Glide back..

If they were selling any....they would still be producing them..hence..supply and demand...as for my "ox being gored"...I bought what I felt was the best that Harley offered that suited me at the time..I'm happy with what I got and when I am ready to buy another one, I'll do all the research all over again with what they are offering at that time..and I am sure I'll ride away happy ..
I went down to one of the area dealers today and looked at the 2010 Wide Glide. I just had to see it in person. It is f**king sweet in my opinion. Looks even better in person than it does in the pics I posted, and way better than the pics on the HD website. I think a lot of the people that are downing this bike are going to change their mind when they actually see one somewhere, especially if the pipes have been changed on it.
