I made a seal seating tool for about $2 out of PVC pipe. Works great!

I have done copmplete front end swaps with the bike sitting on a poor mans lift. 6x6 block and some 1x4's do it everytime. The bike will not fall over. Pull your forks out of the tress to work on them, it will make it much easier, and faster in the long run.

Leave the rear wheel on the ground...why would you want it up in the air?

Any time I take my front wheel off, I just strap the bike to the lift...I've got a Pep Boys lift and don't use any adapters.

ratchet straps will be used without question.

the rear end is gunna have to be off the ground as well because I'm getting the shocks done too, thats why I'm going to use blocks or scissor lifts to support the rear.

As for the PVC pipe, which diameter did you use? Sounds like a great idea!

Even doing rear shocks, the wheel never has to leave the ground...you lift the frame enough to take the load off the shocks, unbolt them and adjust the height of the bike to line up the new shocks.

If you are getting them powdered, then just leave the wheel on the ground untill you get them back.

It's not my bike so use the scissor jack if you want but seems unnecessary to me...
