If you want a Dyna buy a 2006 and up there were a lot of major changes including : Wider and beefer front end, bigger frame , 6 speed tranny , etc. 2005 and under doesn't have these upgrades , there are alot of 2006 and up on Ebay with lower mileage and many the same price or under http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Harle...Q5fmotorcycles

Ditto. The 05 and earlier bikes took a hit on price when the 07's came out. For not much more money you get an extra gear and more inches, plus a better frame and beefier forks. I saw an 07 bone stock dyna FXD here last fall for the same price.

That's all true of course, however there are lots of cool things that you can easily bolt on to the 05's that you can't with 06+. For example, HD dual brake kit, leather toolbox, passenger footboard kit (they might make one for the 06+, not sure), you get the frame mounted rear footpegs, drain screws in the front fork tubes, no inner primary bearing failures, and a few other things that I can't think of right now
I've ridden a 96" 6speed Super glide, and I'm still very happy with my 88" 5 speed. That doesn't seem like too many miles to me, but as far as price, I have no idea, I haven't even looked at used pricing lately for fear of being disgusted at how far the bottom has fallen out of used bike pricing.
