Sears red jack modification
Somebody steered me to your post of the jack modification. I don't have a Sears jack, I have harbor freight and pittsburgh. So while the video makes complete sense on how to do the mod, I need to know the new measurements from inside the jack pads to inside the jack pads and from outside the jack pads to outside the jack pads in case the tube steel the pads are currently mounted on are different dimensions and/or the pads are wider or narrower from my jack compared to your Sears red jack. I hope you are still on here 9 years later to answer! Thanks in advance for your help.
My jack might have different dimensions than yours or others. I need to know the dimensions that work so I can make mine the correct width and buy the right amount of spacers when I get my hardware to make it fit the same as a jack that might have wider or narrower overall width to begin with..

I don't know if this is the answer to your question, but I have a red sears jack and I just measured it. The rails are 13 1/2" outside to outside, and the pads are a touch over 2 3/4" wide, so if you move them to the outside of the rails they'd be 13 1/2" inside and 19+" outside.
